"'When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,' said Piglet at last, 'what's the first thing you say to yourself?'
"'What's for breakfast?' said Pooh. 'What do you say, Piglet?'
"'I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?' said Piglet.
"Pooh nodded thoughtfully. 'It's the same thing,' he said."

-A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh

So, what's for breakfast?

I love Milne. Liv gets me Pooh cards all the time and I get all teary.

Breakfast at our house is a haphazard thing. Bing makes herself a smoothie with almond milk and various fruit. I have a carton of goat milk yogurt and lucky Liv goes to our neighbors (who take her to school each morning) and the menu varies from french toast to soft boiled eggs and bacon.

And yes, I am still horrified at last night's game between the Sooners and my boys. Was that painful to watch!

So it is at ours; actually, I can't remember the last time the kids and I sat down together for breakfast (ok, it was at my mom & dad's a couple of months ago, before that I have no idea).
I don't really have a favorite breakfast, sometimes I crave biscuits and gravy (usually white, but when I was a kid my favorite was chocolate, an old Southern favorite that I still love), or a good omelet, grits or oatmeal, and I just love a good Mexican breakfast with lots of beans, potatoes, red chile, tortillas and cheese...with a Corona, or a real Continental breakfast with loads of cold cuts, cheese, breads and preserves.
The other morning my youngest baked off some tube cinnamon roles before she left for school. I awoke to the most amazing scent, almost as good as waking to bacon and strong coffee.
